The "Not-Nearly-Done" Chocolate Chip Cookies
INGREDIENTS
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp light brown sugar
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup - 1 cup of chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a cookie sheet. Set aside. 2. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a medium sized bowl and set aside. 3. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together in a large bowl until combined. 4. Add the egg and mix! 5. Add the vanilla extract and mix!
6. Add the chocolate chips, 1/2 cup if you want more of a sugar cookie taste, 1 cup if you want a pure chocolate chip cookie taste! 6. Add the dry ingredients and mix until the dough is well combined. It will be thick! 7. Create 1 1/2 tablespoon sized balls or use a cookie scoop! Place on cookie sheet and press down with a wooden spoon (they won't spread as nice if you leave them in a ball, making them into discs encourages them to spread!) Set the dough discs on the baking sheet. 8. Bake cookies for 7 minutes. No more, no less. They'll look like dough but, trust me, they're perfect. 9. Transfer to a plate or cooling rack immediately!
